Is Meta AI the New ChatGPT Killer?

PLUS: Summarize YouTube in One Easy Click

In partnership with

We’re diving headfirst into a smorgasbord of artificial intelligence antics, from Meta’s creepy-cool AI assistant stalking your social media to a YouTube summarizer that spares you from 30-minute vlogger rants. Oh, and did we mention the BBC resurrecting the queen of crime to teach you whodunit? It’s all a bit unhinged, and we’re here to serve it up with a side of snark and a wink at the absurdity.

In this week’s lineup:

  • 🕶️ Meta AI’s smart glasses get chattier (and nosier) with Llama 4

  • 🎨 Nvidia’s 3D-to-2D AI art tool saves creatives from prompt purgatory

  • 📺 Gemini’s YouTube Whisperer summarizes videos faster than you can skip ads

  • 🖋️ AI Agatha Christie teaches you to plot the perfect crime (on paper, please)

Smart Glasses Meet Smart AI

Meta's jumping into the standalone AI assistant pool with its new Meta AI app, stepping out of Facebook's shadow to challenge ChatGPT directly. Powered by their Llama 4 model, this isn't just another chatbot – it's your Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses' new best friend (bye-bye Meta View app).

The creepily convenient part? Meta AI will dig through your Instagram and Facebook history to personalize responses. Mentioned loving ramen in a post three years ago? It remembers. That vacation photo where you hashtagged #OverpackerProblems? It's taking notes.

Voice commands are the star here, with hands-free chatting that follows you across devices. Start a conversation with your glasses and finish it on your phone – because apparently we all needed yet another way for Meta to collect our data.

3D Scenes Transform into AI Art

Nvidia's new awkwardly-named "AI Blueprint for 3D-guided generative AI" might just save creatives from the endless purgatory of text prompt tweaking. The tool lets you rough out a 3D scene in Blender—buildings, trees, camera angles and all—then hands it to the FLUX.1 image generator to create a polished 2D image.

No more typing "cityscape but with taller buildings, fewer trees, more blue sky, from a 37-degree angle" seventeen times. Just build a quick 3D mockup and let AI do the rest.

Available now for RTX 4080+ users, it's essentially what Adobe teased with "Project Concept" but, you know, actually released. A rare win for impatient creatives everywhere.

AI YouTube Whisperer Saves Your Time

In an era where YouTube videos often stretch longer than a DMV line, Gemini AI swoops in like the friend who summarizes movies you missed. This nifty browser extension can condense a 30-minute video into a quick read faster than you can say "skip intro."

The setup is refreshingly simple: install the extension, log in with your Google account, and voilà – a magical "Summarize" button appears under videos. One click and Gemini processes the content, extracting key points while filtering out the "like and subscribe" fluff.

You can even personalize summaries by length or format, because sometimes you need bullet points and sometimes you need paragraphs (life is complicated like that).

Agatha Christie Rises From Dead To Teach

The BBC has digitally resurrected Agatha Christie to teach you how to write the perfect murder mystery—thankfully just on paper. Their new BBC Maestro class features an AI-generated version of the queen of crime, complete with a real actor (Vivien Keene) whose appearance has been augmented to resemble Christie's.

For $10 monthly, aspiring writers can learn from the grande dame of detective fiction "in Agatha's very own words," according to her great-grandson. The course includes 11 video lessons on plotting the perfect literary crime—no AI-generated content here, just human-crafted material based on Christie's actual writings.

Because apparently, having living experts teach you wasn't mysterious enough for the BBC. What's next—Shakespeare teaching sonnets via hologram?
