Figma’s AI Now Knows Your Code
Figma is wiring its AI into more places via its Model Context Protocol (MCP), now with remote access—so you can hook in from IDEs, browser models, and AI agents. The big win: the AI can read the actual code behind your Make files, not just the pretty prototypes, making handoff a lot less hand-wavy. Launch partners include Anthropic, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code, plus a new partner catalog.
You’ll also get richer context sharing (component locations, usage guidelines) and in-app mapping via Code Connect. It’s rolling out in beta, with security reviews for integrations and small REST API rate-limit tweaks that affect under 1% of users. Translation: fewer copy-paste marathons, more shipping.

Microsoft Adds Claude to 365 Copilot
Microsoft just invited Anthropic’s Claude into the Office suite. Claude Sonnet 4 and Opus 4.1 are now selectable in Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio, with a shiny “Try Claude” button in Researcher. You can flip between OpenAI and Anthropic like switching brushes—whatever helps you draft, analyze, or brainstorm faster.
Even Microsoft’s AI has commitment issues: models can be mixed per task, and GitHub Copilot in VS Code already leans on Claude Sonnet 4. The twist? These Anthropic models still run on AWS, Microsoft’s cloud rival. Rumor mill says Excel and PowerPoint could tap Claude next, which might make slide decks suspiciously insightful.

Samsung’s AI Home Lands in India
Samsung just rolled out “AI Home” in Mumbai, a connected living setup that stitches Galaxy AI, Vision AI, and Bespoke AI together via SmartThings. Think lights that wake up with you, an AC that tucks you in, a washer that picks the cycle, and a TV that queues your show—without you lifting a finger.
The pitch is four pillars: Ease, Care, Save, Secure—with Samsung claiming up to 70% energy cuts on some washing cycles. Your fridge turns nutrition coach, your wearables feed wellness tips, while Knox Vault/Matrix promise hardware-level privacy across devices. Slick demo or real ambient intelligence for the masses? India is the launchpad.

Google Mixboard Reinvents the Moodboard
Meet Mixboard, Google’s experimental AI canvas that turns prompts like “cozy minimalist home office” into full-on moodboards—images, color palettes, even sample text. Powered by the delightfully named Nano Banana, you can nudge vibes with plain English, import your own shots, and spin “more like this” until inspiration finally arrives.
Unlike Pinterest or Canva, AI isn’t an add-on here; it’s the process. It’s built for brainstorming, not polished decks—think playful sketchpad, not final client deliverable. It’s U.S.-only for now, and yes, your results still depend on decent prompts (even if “birds with googly eyes” works suspiciously well).
Intriguing, fast, and a little chaotic—just like good ideas.
