China's LineShine system has reportedly moved to the top of the supercomputer rankings, reaching 2.198 exaflops and ending a long U.S.-led stretch at number one.

The important part is how it got there. LineShine avoids GPUs and runs on a custom 304-core processor across 13.79 million cores, which makes the result as much about industrial resilience as raw benchmark performance.

SpaceX Sells the AI Factory

SpaceX has reportedly signed a large compute agreement with Reflection AI, giving the open-source model startup access to AI infrastructure for $150 million a month starting July 1.
